Since the 1960s, the brand has been deeply committed to motor racing. Its partnership with the world champion team gives it wings during a limited-edition series.
Since 2016, on the Formula 1 circuit, TAG Heuer has been the official timekeeper of the Red Bull Racing Team. To celebrate the championship title won last year, along with this alliance and its extension until 2024, a month before the first Grand Prix of the season, the brand is presenting a special edition bearing the team’s colors. Thus, hints of yellow and red enhance the time indications displayed on a dark blue sunray dial. The competitive spirit comes to life in the form of a Formula 1 chronograph with a 43mm-diameter steel case that is water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters. The numerical digits on the hour circle are styled after those on a racing car’s speedometer. Above the 5 and 7, two angles recall the details of a starting grid. The entire assembly is encircled by a fixed tachometric bezel, the embodiment of speed.
This sporty-looking watch is equipped with a quartz movement that drives the hours, minutes, and a date located at 4:30. It also enables timekeeping to the nearest 1/10th of a second. For single-seater racing car enthusiasts, the Formula 1 x Red Bull Racing features an engraving of the team’s logo with the famous bulls and a checkered pattern on the back of the casing. Two versions are suggested. One comes with a metal wristband for an elegant look. The other is worn on a blue rubber strap, ideal for enhancing a decidedly sporty look.
