PRX AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH Tissot

PRX AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH Tissot

WINNING COMBINATIONS

The elegant watch collection bearing the emblematic design of the 1970s is moving forward with a duo of sports chronographs that are resolutely attractive in more ways than one. Explanations.

PR for “precise and robust” or “particularly resistant”, X or the Roman numeral 10 for water resistance to 10 atm, i.e. 100 meters below the surface. Since 2021, these three letters together form an attractive collection of watches with integrated wristbands from Tissot bearing a very seventies look, inspired by the Seastar of 1978. After the three-hand and date models with their sporty chic look, the Locle-based brand expands its range with two PRX Automatic Chronograph models.

Their chiseled case in satin-finished steel, 42mm in diameter, takes up the attractive common lines. The ability to measure time intervals logically alters the composition of the dial, which also receives a new brushed finish. On the upper surface, we find the totalizers and the small seconds in a tricompax position, completed by a date display located at 4:30. The two variations can be distinguished by the choice of colors. One, very much in the spirit of the times, combines an elegant blue with white sub-dials. The other provides a sublime vintage alternative, “reverse panda” style with a silver background. However you prefer, all versions are powered by the Valjoux A05.H31 caliber. This self-winding movement, revealing its gears and openworked oscillating weight through the sapphire back, boasts 60 hours of power reserve. With their technical and aesthetic properties, these PRX Automatic Chronographs are the perfect choice to be worn in all circumstances.
