TINTED TRANSLUCENCY
Made of synthetic sapphire, a material praised for its lightness and resistance here tinted with vibrant colors, the two new watches unveiled by the Parisian maison and authenticated by the most prestigious certification feature a vertical vision of their mechanism.
Vibrant colors are on the agenda with this duo of new models that expand the Tambour Moon Tourbillon Volant “Poinçon de Genève” collection already composed by three versions, totally transparent and delicately bluish or pinkish. Indeed, for its emblematic watch that celebrated its two decades of existence in 2022, Louis Vuitton opted for bright, very spring-like, even fluorescent shades: a lemon yellow boosted with vitamin C and a very refreshing water mint green.
For each of the references, the 42.5mm diameter and 9.90mm thick case is machined in synthetic sapphire, a material with a crystalline appearance that is as light as it is resistant. The different elements – the case middle, the case back and the LV signature ring at 9 o’clock – have been cut from a mass-colored block and polished. This translucent and shiny aspect contrasts strongly with the lugs, the crown and the plate/bridge assembly placed in concentric rings covered with a matte black treatment. In the center, two openworked and two-tone baton-type hands display the hours and minutes.
Like a pilaster, the LV 90 caliber reveals its workings in a vertical display punctuated at 6 o’clock by a flying tourbillon with a 60-second rhythm and topped by a Fleur de Monogram, the Louis Vuitton symbol. This hand-wound mechanical movement, entirely designed by the Fabrique du Temps, provides a power reserve of 80 hours. Stamped, as its name indicates, with the prestigious seal that authenticates its excellent workmanship, the Tambour Moon Tourbillon Volant “Poinçon de Genève” watch is worn on a black or green alligator leather strap, depending on the version chosen, which is closed by a titanium pin buckle.
