STAGGERING
High efficiency, top performance, new material, and a design as attractive as ever breathe new life into an emblematic diver’s watch from the Locle-based brand.
1969 wasn’t simply an erotic year. Our first steps on the Moon, the Woodstock Festival, and the flight of the Concorde… a host of events highlight both technological progress and the desire for societal breakthroughs. Tissot unveils the Sidéral, a model that perfectly combines these two aspects. Its monobloc case is in part machined using fiberglass, a material widely used in motor racing and in the design of high-performance skis. Its aesthetic appeal is also enhanced by its bright colors. In keeping with the spirit of the original model, the brand is now offering a contemporary version developed around a 41mm-diameter case, water-resistant down to a depth of 300 meters, and now crafted in steel and forged carbon. This material, combined with the unidirectional black PVD bezel, enhances the Sidéral’s sporty, nautical personality.
Other new features include a Powermatic 80 automatic caliber delivering 80 hours of power reserve, mounted on a perforated rubber wristband with an original attachment system for easy changing. Alongside the blue, yellow, and red versions, green, orange, and black alternatives can also be selected. On the dial, the colorful graphics highlight the ten-minute countdown that’s ideal for starting a regatta. To ensure this invaluable information is available under all lighting conditions, an astonishing multicolored luminescent display enhances the various scales of the composition. The Sidéral is simply staggering.
