The brand from Le Locle pursues its partnership with the American men’s basketball league by showcasing a never-seen-before chronograph this year, cut out for competition.
24 seconds. This is the time granted to each team to aim for a two- or three-point shot during a NBA game. This time lapse decorates the aluminum bezel of the new Supersport NBA Special Edition 2025 watch imagined by Tissot. For this model, the firm, which has been official timekeeper of the National Basketball Association since 2015, infuses its expertise into every stylistic detail to boost its sporty personality.
Its 45.5 mm-diameter steel case, totally covered with black PVD coating, protects a textured dial that conjures up the dot-covered surface of the iconic orange ball. Above, four XL-sized numerals on the hour chapter take on the typography of the numbers used on the jerseys of the competing teams. The white Super-LumiNova® that tops these markers, as well as the hour and minute hands, gifts the piece with a contrast that’s vital for reading data optimally whatever the conditions of light. What’s more, dashes of blue and red, applied to this scenography, evoke the American league’s symbol and add a dynamic touch to the monochrome composition. The same colors are used on the top-stitching of the interchangeable black rubber strap. The caseback also features an engraving of the NBA logo, fringed with the names of the teams’ cities and states, arranged based on their latitude, like an ultimate tip of the hat to the organization founded in 1946. The time data, the 1/10th of a second timekeeping, as well as the date, are driven by a Swiss-made quartz caliber.
