TRAVEL COMPANION
Its dial will accompany you anytime, anywhere! Tissot, partner of French car manufacturer Alpine, unveils a new series of its surprising polymorphic chronograph.
The incredibly-sporty Alpine A110 captivates with its temperament and its lines inspired by the legendary 1960s berlinetta. And, to heighten driving pleasure even more, in 2018 Tissot proposed a chronograph boasting a double personality to the fortunate owners. Although it’s worn on the wrist like most watches, it’s ever-so special as it can be removed from its leather strap and attached to a stand which, in turn, can be placed on the coupé dashboard next to the multimedia screen. This year round, the brand showcases a new limited edition of its Alpine On Board Automatic issued in 516 pieces. This version comes complete with a base which transforms the timepiece into a table clock.
Its slate-gray dial features a bi-compax display of black sub-dials, small seconds at 9 o’clock and 30-minute totalizer at 3 o’clock. The white hands flaunting luminescent material hover over an hour chapter comprising orange-hued indexes. The central direct-drive takes on the same dynamic color as does the frame of the date aperture. The ensemble offers perfect contrast for optimal readability under any lighting conditions.
Time data continues to be driven by the Valjoux A05.H31 caliber hosted in the 45 mm-diameter steel case. The openworked oscillating weight and several mechanical workings can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback. Once fully-wound, this selfwinding movement delivers at least 60 hours’ autonomy to the Alpine On Board Automatic.
