KEEPING THE BALL ROLLING
For the first American basketball league match in Paris, sold out in no time at all, Tissot unveiled the watch which symbolizes its role in the championship.
For the utmost delight of slam-dunk, free-throw and 3-point shot fans, the Accord Arena court hosted the first match of the NBA’s regular season at the heart of Paris on January 24 last. For this event, where Tissot was the official timekeeper, the Milwaukee Bucks with their star player, the Greek-born Giannis Antetokounmpo, played against the Charlotte Hornets and won the game. The NBA Paris Game 2020 was also the opportunity to unveil the watch commemorating the partnership between the Locle-based watchmaker and the American league, initiated back in 2015. This timepiece, a Chrono XL NBA Special Edition model, is presented in an exclusive giftbox.
The timepiece’s steel case, waterproof to 100 m, stands out with its large 45 mm diameter and its back PVD-coated finish. On the identically-colored dia, the hands and indexes are covered with luminescent coating to ensure excellent readability.
All time data as well as chronograph short-cycle time measurements are driven by a Swiss-manufactured quartz movement.
The Tissot Chrono XL NBA Special Edition is complemented by a strap fashioned from the same leather as the prestigious basketball league’s official Spalding balls. Inside the wooden giftbox are thirty removable stickers representing the NBA teams which can be affixed to the caseback which is proposed decorated with the iconic NBA logo.
