Round, classic, timeless, elegant…one finds no shortage of adjectives to describe the timepieces in the Master collection from Jaeger-LeCoultre. And thin! All you have to do is discover the pieces that make up Master Ultra Thin range to agree, in particular the new Tourbillon model in rose gold. This year, the Manufacture de la Vallée de Joux has made some changes to the reference. It is now within a 40mm-diameter and 10.77mm-thick case, as opposed to 11.3mm for the previous version, with filiform dauphine-style hour and minute hands flying over the eggshell-colored dial and pointing to elongated golden hour-markers. At 6 o’clock, a tourbillon and its mobile titanium cage move through a wide opening. Its presence aids the precision of the watch by canceling out the effects of gravity. This arrangement ensures an airy setting and excellent readability.
The unit is powered by the 978G caliber assembled using 271 components, including a new plate with a sunburst finish. This self-winding movement with a cadence of 28,800 vibrations per hour provides a power reserve of 45 hours. Some of its elements, such as the open-worked oscillating weight, are revealed through the sapphire caseback. The regulating organ and its gold bridge are then showcased on either side of the watch.
To reinforce the elegance of the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon in Rose Gold, it comes with a brown alligator leather strap finished with a pin buckle.
