PERFORMANCE EXEMPLIFIED
The brand from Le Locle, whose quest has been chronometric performance since the word ‘go’, pursues its historic endurance by revealing a new chronograph displaying the10th of a second.
For Zenith, chronometric precision is literally an art-de-vivre, a philosophy to which the Le Locle brand forever remains true, for which it has done its utmost since it was created in 1865. This is now showcased in its much-awaited Chronograph Sport. Basically, this dynamic chronograph, which displays the 10th of a second, embraces 50 years of mechanical expertise as it epitomizes the six models created between 1965 and 2012 which came from the manufacture’s heritage.
This time round, for the Chronomaster Sport, the legendary El Primero caliber was optimized, updated to boost its performances. The 3600 movement beats at a frequency of 5 Hz and delivers a power reserve of 60 hours. It nestles in a 41 mm-diameter steel case, waterproof to depths of 100 metres, topped by a graduated black ceramic bezel.
Zenith’s can’t-do-without signature features on the dial which is proposed in matt white or lacquered black: i.e. tricolored, snailed counters. Light gray for the small seconds at 9 o’clock, blue for the 60-second totalizer at 3 o’clock and dark gray for the 60-minute one at 6 o’clock. The baton-shaped running hour and minute hands, ticking over the applique indexes, are rhodium-plated and luminescent whilst the chronograph direct-drive boasts a red tip and a star-shaped counterpoise.
This newcomer is worn on a three-link steel bracelet or on a black or blue Cordura-effect rubber strap.
