FORCE 4
Now that the summer season is in full swing, the brand with the red triangle is introducing two new sports watches, each equipped with a steel case and an automatic movement.
“Sport makes for good health”, as the saying goes. This is rather appropriate because Alpina is presenting two new sports watches, robust and reliable, timeless and versatile. Indeed, the Alpiner4 Automatic is at home both on land as it is at sea, since it can withstand water depths of up to 100 meters, in a stadium as well as in the office with its all-terrain look. Advantages that combined with a well thought-out price make this duo highly appealing.
Why the number 4? Because it refers to the four indicators on the dial for hours, minutes, seconds, and the date, as well as to the four fundamentals established in 1938 by the brand’s founder: anti-magnetic, shockproof, waterproof, and stainless. In short, all the expected features of a sports watch to be worn on a daily basis.
The latest Alpina models share the same 44mm and 13.15mm steel case with a bi-directional rotating bezel featuring black markings and a red triangular indicator. This sturdy casing, secured by a solid caseback with a trio of mountains engraved on it, accommodates the AL-525 automatic caliber running at 4hz and providing 38 hours of power reserve.
The dial, meanwhile, is punctuated with horizontal lines highlighting a sunburst finish and offered in two luminous colors, pine green and steel gray. In its center it displays three silvered hands, two luminescent ones for the hours and minutes and one baton-shaped with a counterweight decorated with a red triangle to mark the seconds. The date is displayed at 3 o’clock in white on a black background.
Price: CHF 1,250 for the grey dial on leather – CHF 1,450 for the green dial on steel
