GOING THE EXTRA MILE
Hungry for adventure, exploring aquatic life? With this novelty unveiled during Watches and Wonders Geneva, the watchmaker emphasizes its famous motto, Don’t crack under pressure…
Following TAG Heuer’s update to its 2021 dive watch, this year the company is presenting a body-built upgrade designed for exploring the abyss: the Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver. Its has a steel caseback and a grade 5 titanium case, 3mm thicker and 45mm wider than the Aquaracer Professional 300. These options guarantee the watch is waterproof to a depth of 1000 meters. In addition, every detail has been carefully considered to meet the requirements of the ISO standard for saturation diving watches. The presence of a helium escape valve further limits the effects of pressure during an ascent. Moreover, on its crown, protected by a roll bar, an orange seal warns whether it is noticeable that it is poorly screwed in. Legibility under all light conditions was also optimized. Green and blue Super-Luminova® Grade X1 has been applied to the large markers on the sleek dial, the hands, and the scales on the unidirectional rotating bezel.
Protected from the negative effects of magnetism by means of a cage, its TH30-OO caliber originates from Kenissi Manufacture, an entity developed by Tudor. This powerful self-winding mechanism provides 70 hours of power reserve. Its chronometry is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is equipped with a titanium wristband finished with a folding clasp. It can be easily and precisely adjusted to be worn over a thick neoprene wetsuit.
