AQUIS DATE TASTE OF SUMMER Oris

AQUIS DATE TASTE OF SUMMER Oris

A FRUITY DUO

As summer finally takes hold in Switzerland, the Hölstein watch brand offers the chance to dive in the sea in the company of a pair of watches with refreshing faces, built for underwater adventures.

Winter melon or watermelon? Ripe strawberry or acid pear? With the long-awaited arrival of summer after a capricious spring in Switzerland, seasonal fruits, with pulp bursting with sunshine and sugar, are also appearing on market stalls, inspiring the Oris brand at the same time. Indeed, the Hölstein watchmaker has taken the vibrant hues of these juicy, thirst-quenching flesh and applied them to the faces of a duo of aptly named novelties, the Aquis Date Taste of Summer, offering color combinations as unprecedented as they are gourmand for this collection of off-roader watches.

The sturdy steel case measures 41.50mm in diameter, incorporates a screw-down crown and can withstand immersion to a depth of 300m, making the Aquis Date an ideal companion for underwater adventures. It is topped by a unidirectional, rotating, notched bezel that supports a white ceramic ring on which the diving scale has been engraved and then tinted kiwi green or watermelon red to match the dial.

In the center of the dial are two elongated sword-shaped hands and a second hand with a dot, all three coated with Super-LumiNova® and in charge of displaying hours, minutes and seconds by pointing to raised hour-markers. At 6 o’clock, a window displays the date in black on a white background. To power this stylish tool watch, fitted with a steel three-row bracelet and folding clasp, the brand chose the Oris caliber 733, a 4hz automatic movement that delivers 41 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
