After the BL-Endurance collection, Lorige is already gearing up for the future with a new original creation. Adopting the concept of a case machined from the carbon-carbon brakes of racing cars, the AS-01 model incorporates elements of a mythical vehicle: the brake pads of the 1993 McLaren MP4/8 driven by Ayrton Senna. The square case topped by a white gold bezel houses an original caliber. The LOR-TC01, resulting from a collaboration with Timeless, was two years in development. The audacious architecture of this hand-wound movement, made up of 323 components, focuses one’s entire attention upon encountering the watch. The lack of a dial brings to the fore a masterful central tourbillon. Its three branches symbolize the three years during which the Brazilian driver held the crown of F1 world champion.
Additional references to Formula 1 are part of the AS-01’s sleek style. Connecting rods serve as links with the case. The bridges take the form of control arms. Two discs revolve around the regulating mechanism, itself spinning in its titanium cage. Above, white gold indicators, enhanced with yellow Super-LumiNova®, in the shape of elongated A’s, replace the traditional hour and minute hands. The solar tint of the luminescent material graces the hour markers and the two numbers 9 and 3 are a reference to the brake year. This number is also related to the power reserve: 93 hours of autonomy! Mechanical performance and aesthetic vigor take aim at the highest podium.
