Battista is the name of an electrically-powered supercar boasting 1,900 horsepower and to speed of 350 km/h. Battista is also a new timepiece imagined by Bovet with equally impressive design and engineering. Apart from the name, these incredibly-desirable luxurious objects have another point in common: both are the fruit of close collaboration with the Italian stylist and car designer Automobili Pininfarina. The streamlined 45.6 mm-diameter case, profiled at 12 and 6 o’clock, draws its inspiration from the aerodynamic forms of the car. Other details on the skeletonized dial derive their silhouettes from the Battista like the regulating device cage that takes on the shape of Impulso wheels.
On the motor side, the hand-wound movement is as high-performing as its electrical counterpart. It beats at a slow frequency of 18,000 vibrations an hour and delivers a power reserve of 10 days with its single barrel. This caliber, assembled with some 400 components, drives the hour and minute hands, the seconds on the dual-sided tourbillon, an energy indicator at 9 o’clock and a large date at 3 o’clock.
This model is issued to celebrate Pininfarina’s 90th anniversary in three 30-piece series, polished titanium, red gold and platinum. All the Battista Tourbillon watches are complemented by a 100% vegan two-tone black and blue strap, created specially for the occasion.
