VISUAL CONJURATION
An image reveals more than a thousand words. Exactly how Marc Ferrero loves to tell stories through his paintings. This watch duo, issued as a limited series, marks a new chapter in the partnership.
When he creates, Marc Ferrero, instigator of the Storytelling Art movement which he defines as a “specific type of communication which uses the narrative vector and art as a means of expression”, is forever weaving tales and playing on his audience’s perception through the use of sophisticated visuals. Among his most famous works of art, his variations focusing on the face of a woman glossing her lips and ever-so appropriately called Lipstick, symbolizing an up-to-the-minute independent woman, seduced Hublot. This creation went on to adorn the dial of two limited series in 2019 and, for 2020, the manufacture pursues its partnership with the artist and unveils two novel versions of the Big Bang One Click Marc Ferrero, each issued in just 100 pieces. What’s so special about them? Although the first editions showcased vibrantly-colored pinks and blues, the 2020 vintage timepieces have gone for a highly-graphical monochrome-style. In short, one of the models features satin-brushed-polished steel and resin adornments along with a delicate white-lacquered dial. The other stands out with its black ceramic case and white- and black-lacquered face. On both compositions, the lipstick from the famous work of art is utterly bewitching. A 42-diamond-set bezel plays the role of a luminous, precious frame.
A HUB1710 caliber nestles inside each 39 mm-diameter case. This self-winding movement delivers a power reserve of some 50 hours.
All the watches are delivered with two straps. The first, fashioned in rubber and alligator, flaunts the same color as the box it is presented in. The other, a blend of rubber and calfskin, boasts one of the artist’s illustrations.
