SKY BLUE ENERGY
A year after the success of its candy-pink dial, the Geneva-based brand’s chronograph starts the year with a luminous turquoise face, curved by a bezel as black as the counters to stimulate the wrist.

Tudor‘s latest creation, the Black Bay Chrono “Flamingo Blue”, offers energy on a platter at the start of this chilly new year. A year after the success of its candy-pink version, the Geneva-based brand is renewing the experiment, this time opting for a slightly turquoise blue. It’s impossible for the eye not to be drawn to this invigorating hue, even more so when it’s worn by Tudor muse David Beckham in a photo that’s taking social networks by storm.
Machined in steel, the case measures 41mm in diameter and is topped by a bezel incorporating a blackened aluminum ring, complemented by a tachymetric scale inscribed in silver-white. The dark color is repeated on the two hollow counters, the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the minute totalizer at 3 o’clock, to create a strong contrast with the azure tone of the dial. Time marches on against this backdrop, embodied in the center by luminescent “snowflake” hands and the chronograph red-tipped second hand. The date is shown at 6 o’clock in a window with a white background.
Tudor, which introduced its first in-house designed movement a decade ago, equips this new model with the MT5813 bi-directional self-winding caliber. This precise, COSC-approved 4hz motor provides a substantial 70-hour power reserve. The Black Bay Chrono “Flamingo Blue” is worn on a steel link bracelet whose clasp is equipped with the “T-fit” system, allowing it to be adjusted for optimum comfort.
