GLOBAL VISION
An exclusive presentation at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2023, this latest addition to the Geneva watchmaking line-up captivates the eye with its practical 24-hour time display.
Catering to demanding travelers is second nature to Patek Philippe. The manufacturer accordingly offers multiple models in its collections featuring a two-time-zone display operated by two central hour hands. The Calatrava 5224R-001 shares the same nomadic genes, although, a welcome development differentiates it from previous models. Indeed, on the elegant blue dial rises an hour rim composed of 24 applied numerals. This configuration, combined with the Super-LumiNova® coating, makes it possible to read the time data with great accuracy in all light conditions and to easily distinguish day from night.
All indications, including the seconds hand, are precisely synchronized by the caliber 31-260 PS FUS 24H, with a 48-hour power reserve, displayed through the sapphire back. Equipped with a mini platinum rotor, this self-winding movement is remarkable, among other things, for its thinness of only 3.7mm. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Calatrava 5224R-001 is housed in a rose gold case, fully polished, with a diameter of 42mm and a height of 9.85mm. The customary correctors built into the case middle have been replaced by an ingenious patented system controlled from the crown in the intermediate position. This system enables the local time hand to be easily set. The “stop balance” feature also ensures a precise setting of the minutes. The Patek Phillipe wristband in navy blue calf leather offers a business class boarding pass for the most elegant travel.
