In the late 1970s, the Lotus team made a name for itself on the Formula 1 circuit. The panache of its drivers, notably Mario Andretti and then Ayrton Senna, made their performances legendary. The race cars also left their mark on the history of competition with their original black and gold paint scheme. The choice of this color combination confers on the cars a masculine, sporty, and elegant personality. This is also associated at this year-end with the Carrera Chronograph. TAG Heuer just unveiled a new reference featuring these attributes. Its 42mm-diameter case, water-resistant down to a depth of 100 meters, is machined in solid 18K yellow gold 3N. The same precious metal is used for the push buttons and the crown. On a sublime black sunray dial, the minute and hour markers are highlighted by their gold-plated coating that also enhances the hands and indexes. This contrasting composition offers excellent readability of the various time data.
All information is precisely orchestrated by the Heuer 02 caliber with Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) certified chronometry. This self-winding movement produces a comfortable power reserve of 80 hours, or more than three days. The sapphire caseback enables viewing of its openworked black oscillating weight in action. This Carrera Chronograph is worn on a black alligator leather wristband closed with a yellow gold pin buckle. A 2022 vintage edition is exclusive in every detail!
