THE POWER OF LUMINESCENCE
The brand from Le Locle does not hesitate to extract emblematic references from its archives to reinterpret them with a modern twist, as proven by this new luminescent watch designed in collaboration with the magazine SJX Watches.
In May 2020, the project for a new watch began, born from the modern interpretation of an iconic reference in Zenith‘s heritage, a rare model with a dial split into sectors from 1969 that takes on the tricolor spirit of the A386: El Primero G383, also known as the “Poker Chip”. After 18 months of development, the idea of Su Jiaxian, the founder of Singapore-based magazine SJX Watches, is finally born. Called Chronomaster Revival “Poker Chip”, this limited edition of 200 pieces features the original architecture of the G383 in a contemporary and very… brilliant way!
Like its predecessor, the dial of this new model is displayed like an abstract painting with its trio of counters with a particular graphic design, a work of art in dark shades between its anthracite disk and its matte black sectors illuminated by a large quantity of green Super-LumiNova®. The luminescent material is present everywhere: the applied indexes, the hands, the sub-dials. Even the date at 4:30 and the tachymetric and telemetric scales that encircle the whole are illuminated by this phosphorescence.
In order to let the face of the Chronomaster Revival “Poker Chip” express itself fully, the 38mm diameter case, punctuated by piston-shaped pushers, is made of dark grey bead-blasted titanium. It houses the self-winding El Primero 400 caliber, a 5hz movement that delivers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
