A GLIMPSE OF ETERNITY
The contemporary Manufacture based in the Vallée de Joux reinterprets the “mechanico-aesthetic” advances set up by its founder more than two centuries ago to offer all the facets of time in a single watch.
Far from the visually heavy decorations and other embellishments in vogue at the time, which made it difficult to take in information, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823) redesigned the time in his workshop on the île de la Cité in the heart of Paris. Although he simplified the appearance of his watch dials, inventing a new stylistic language, they nevertheless conceal a complex mechanism, the result of years of research, to deliver all the displays essential to daily life. This philosophy, which dates back more than two centuries, continues to fuel the creativity that teems within the walls of the eponymous Manufacture, based in the Vallée de Joux, and leads in particular to the new Classique Quantième Perpétuel 7327, almost twenty years after the first version.
Redesigned to facilitate the ergonomics of the various indications, this watch has an elegant case measuring 39mm in diameter and 9.13mm thick, available in grey or rose gold, and houses the 502.3.P caliber, a 3hz automatic movement that delivers 45 hours of power reserve, assembled with 294 components, equipped with an open barrel, an off-center oscillating weight and, above all, a 4-year mechanical memory that allows it to take into account the variable length of the months and leap years.
The displays it drives are cleverly arranged on the silvered gold dial decorated with the Clous de Paris pattern and curved with black Roman numerals: the hours and minutes in the center pointed by two blued Breguet hands with hollowed-out knobs, the counters pointing out the day at 3:30, the date at 6, the years at 8:30, the months stretched out in a fan shape indicator at 10:30 (retrograde hand), and the moon phase at 1:30. Several correctors discreetly housed in the case middle contribute to the purity of the line of this Classique Quantième Perpétuel 7327, which is worn with a navy or chocolate alligator leather strap and a folding clasp.
