REGENERATION
Omega rejuvenates the style and engineering of its city range, inviting us to discover a myriad of variations, all COSC-certified and all coming up trumps in METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) testing.
Although perhaps not as well known as the Speedmaster and Seamaster, the Constellation collection has been a keystone in its own right in Omega’s galaxy since 1952. For 2020, it revamps itself with a 5th generation of models. No less than 26 references refashion the range, all with a 39 mm-diameter case in common. This case is proposed in a wide array of materials and now boasts beveled, polished angles. These updated cases, available in steel, SednaTM gold, yellow gold, to name but three, also host a finer bezel adorned with reinterpreted Roman numerals. The crown takes on a conical form to add a touch of sophistication. On the dial which flaunts new patterns and colors, the hour and minute hands as well as the indexes have been imagined in a shape inspired by the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower in New York. The date aperture remains as before at 6 o’clock.
Among the novelties, it is also worth noting the particular craftsmanship on the metallic bracelets featuring new links separated by polished barrettes and an untightening system for optimal wearing comfort. Moreover, Omega also proposes an extensive selection of different colored leather straps.
All these new models are driven by the Co-Axial 8800/8801 self-winding caliber (with a 55-hour power reserve). It can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback. All the pieces have increased magnetic-field-effect resistance and are Master Chronometer-certified (COSC and METAS), a guarantee of robustness and high precision.
