The Defy watch collection is forever growing with a host of variations boasting incredible styles. This year, Zenith rolls out a sturdy model, its Defy Extreme, in a larger 45 mm-diameter case, waterproof to depths of 200 m. Unlike the other timepieces in the collection with their curvaceous lines, this time round a dodecagonal ring comes into play under the bezel and boosts the watch’s sporty spirit. This timepiece is available in three versions. The first is imagined around a case crafted in matte-finished titanium. It features a black- and gray-hued dial. The second takes on the same material but with a brushed finish that highlights the blue shades enhancing the counters amongst other elements. The third stands out with a microblasted version of this metal combined with polished rose gold, which adds a touch of elegance to the watch’s face.
Whatever your choice, all three host the El Primero 9004 caliber. This movement, an up-to-the-minute interpretation of the prestigious 1969 selfwinder, stands out with its two escapements, a high-frequency one, beating at 360,000 vibrations an hour for measuring time to 1/100th of a second and another set at 5 Hz for time data displays. It also guarantees autonomy of more than two days (around 50 hours).
Each piece is complemented by a flexi titanium-link bracelet. Thanks to the quick-change strap system, the bracelet can be replaced by a rubber or Velcro® textile strap, both included in the box-set.
