POWER AND PERFORMANCE
The watchmaker from Le Locle closes its very prolific year in terms of product creation with a new watch, available in two references and powered by a powerful motor with a 1/100th of a second chronograph function and a double tourbillon mechanism.
Nothing seems to slow down the very dynamic Zenith, swept along in its creative momentum since the end of 2018, which concludes in style the year 2022, a prolific year in terms of products and strategic for the Defy collection, with an exceptional piece. Indeed, the new Defy Extreme Double Tourbillon reflects both the long experience of the Le Locle-based brand in the world of chronometry and its thirst to conquer new territories of both mechanical and aesthetic expression.
With its 45mm diameter case, water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters, this contemporary watch with a strong personality is available in two versions, one machined entirely in titanium, including the link bracelet, and the other combining the random stripes of carbon fiber with the softness of matte pink gold. The Defy Extreme Double Tourbillon‘s openworked dial features touches of tinted sapphire crystal and black PVD that accentuate the strength of its architecture, highlighting the various displays hemmed in gold, including the two independent tourbillons that occupy the entire left side, from 7 to 11 o’clock, and revealing the workings of its powerful engine, the El Primero 9020 caliber. This self-winding movement manufactured by Zenith features a high-frequency chronograph function (50hz) as well as a double tourbillon mechanism with two different gyration rates (60 and 5 seconds). This duality also affects the power reserve, which amounts to 50 hours for the “classic” time indication and 50 minutes for the short time measurement.
