STAR MANIA
Pristine lines and cutting-edge mechanics breathe life into this sporty, refined model, available exclusively through the distribution network of the Locle-based brand.
At a time of versatile watches worn on all occasions, Zenith is arming itself with multiple watches from the Skyline collection presented in 2022. The sport chic spirit holds no secrets for the manufacturer. One only has to explore the new Defy Skyline Boutique Edition to be convinced. Its 41mm-diameter steel case with its angular lines is shared with a 12-sided bezel inspired by the 1969 model. On its slate-gray dial, the duo of rose-gold hour and minute hands coated with Super-Luminova® SLN C1, is set in a refined layout, decorated with a star motif enhanced by the same precious material. In a discreet aperture at 3 o’clock, the numbers tick off the date.
At 9 o’clock, the culminating point of this timepiece is a small seconds hand making its revolutions. Contrary to a classic sub-dial, this counter performs its gyrations in 1/10th of a second. To accomplish these rapid revolutions, the dial is directly activated by the silicon escapement running at 5Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour. In keeping with its chronometric DNA, all time information is powered by an El Primero caliber, in this case the high-frequency 3620. This self-winding movement is extremely precise yet robust, with a 60-hour power reserve. Its satin-finished oscillating weight decorated with an ornate star is revealed through the sapphire back of the case. The metal wristband closed by a folding clasp features a quick-release system. Its black rubber alternative, included with the watch, can then replace it in no time. Ideal for combining practicality with pleasure!
