The days of the sole watch to be worn all your life are well and truly over! For several decades now, time has been adapted to the needs of each individual, taking the form of sporty, classic, designer pieces, among others. Now, thanks to Certina, it follows the trend and can be adapted to your desires in a flash. Indeed, the brand’s new DS+ customization concept allows the Swatch Group brand to create literally infinite combinations according to one’s moods, activities and life.
DS is the acronym for Double Security, a promise made since 1959 and on which the Biel-based company has built its reputation by producing references as resistant as they are reliable. Accompanied by the “+” symbol, it translates into a three-stage composition: a watch head to be chosen from three dial colors (silvered white, navy blue or sunray black) and to be associated with one of the six proposed watch cases or caps before opting for a bracelet in steel (large mesh or Milanese type), in textile (NATO or #tide ocean material®) or in calf leather. Fitting is easy: just screw on the first two elements using the secondary crown, placed at 8 or 10 o’clock, which secures the whole. Then, an interchangeable system allows the strap to be quickly and firmly attached to the lugs.
On the dial with luminescent indexes and hands, the hours, minutes and central seconds as well as the date at 6 o’clock are driven by the Powermatic 80 caliber, a robust automatic movement that delivers an 80-hour power reserve.DS+ watches can be purchased in a kit containing a watch head, two watch cases and two straps, or configured directly on the Certina website.
