HERE COMES SUMMER!
As summer is just around the corner, vacations and swimming in the ocean are on our minds. If you’re after a watch that’s beautiful and reliable, Certina has reissued its 1960s diver but this time round boasting technical features totally in tune with the 21st century.
Before heading off to destinations this summer that dreams are made of and picturing yourself lounging on the warm sand, it’s time to choose the watch you wish to share these unforgettable moments with. A piece that’s sturdy yet good-looking, reliable yet versatile, can dive underwater and swim with brightly-colored schools of fish then accompany you for a cocktail along the seafront. Well, look no further: the sporty brand Certina has combined all these needs and desires in a single model, the DS PH200M.
The DS PH200M is an up-to-the-minute re-edition of a 1967 diver. It was already rolled out in 2018 but this time round it adorns incredibly captivating technical features such as its unidirectional rotating bezel poised on a domed ceramic ring, proposed in blue or black based on the version chosen, with the can’t-do-without scale for measuring immersion time, etched in gold. The sapphire-crystal-protected dial hosts rectangular indexes and a trio of central hands: sword-shaped for the hours, baton for the minutes and white-lacquered with an arrow tip for the seconds, all coated with blue-glowing Super-LumiNova®. Here, the date is displayed at 3 o’clock.
The polished or black PVD-treated 42.8 mm-diameter steel case, set off with a screwed crown, is waterproof to depths of 200 m. It houses the famous Powermatic 80, a sturdy automatic movement embracing a NivachronTM balance-spring – anti-magnetic and optimally shock- and temperature-variation-resistant – and delivers a power reserve of 80 hours when fully wound.
Price: CHF880 (leather or textile strap) – CHF895 (PVD on leather) – CHF935 (steel bracelet)
