THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE
From Elvis Presley’s famous Cadillac to Barbie doll outfits, pink made its mark in pop culture by smashing codes and injecting a breath of summertime air.
British style just loves going against decorum and, at the same time, playing around with its rules. Where extravagance espouses classical pieces invigorated with the help of materials, colors and even one-of-a-kind patterns. Speake-Marin’s novel limited editions, born out of designer Eric Giroud’s fertile imagination, are inspired by this mentality. The Dual Time Pink watches, rolled out in two diameters, 38 and 42 mm, are respectively produced in 10 and 28 pieces. Both versions flaunt a look that cleverly mixes chic style with casualness through the omnipresent bubblegum pink. This pastel hue as such sets off the Piccadilly-type case, crafted in grade 5 titanium dressed in black, obtained using DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) treatment, by inviting contrast in.
Time data is all animated by the SMA01 caliber (52-hour power reserve). This selfwinding movement reigns with its micro-rotor, which takes on the form of the brand’s iconic logo, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. Its barrel, unveiled dial-side at 5 o’clock, enhances the watch design. Here, time data is displayed in a two-toned, openworked scenography. The black PVD and Pantone 700C pink place the spotlight on the stylized hour and minute hands as well as the subdial at 9 o’clock that showcases a second time zone, the small seconds and the retrograde date nestling at 1:30. What’s more, to create the perfect match, the Dual Time Pink models are worn on a coordinating rubber strap.
