ELEGANCE IS ALWAYS UNMISTAKENINGLY OBVIOUS
Its sophisticated case challenges trends and fashions. Colored adornments galvanize the dials of the novel variations to better set off highly-demanding wrists wishing to stand out from the crowd.
During the Roaring Twenties, Art Deco blossomed in architecture and in everyday objects. The common thread of the design of all these creations: the absence of right angles. In watchmaking, cases would as such place the accent on elegance by taking on the tonneau shape, amongst other things. These rounded lines, which would become timeless, play a role in the success of Longines’ Evidenza collection unveiled in 2003. Wishing to be forever in tune with the times, the Saint-Imier brand proposes two novel colored variations. Both boast a dial imagined with two individual spaces. The pared-down center features a matt finish. The sunray hour chapter comprises honed slimline Roman numerals.
One of the references marries silvered decor with time data dressed in majestic blue. Tinted edging on the crown echoes this azure hue. The second variation adorns a contrasted scenescape. The white-cloaked numerals and hands stand out on its luminous emerald-green backdrop. Depending on the version, the Longines Evidenza is accompanied by an alligator strap in green or blue, shades of lagoons, seas and oceans, attached by a folding clasp.
The mirror-polished steel case (26.0 x 30.6 mm) hosts the L592 caliber. This selfwinding movement, beating at a rhythm of 28,800 vibrations an hour, delivers a power reserve of 45 hours. It also drives the date, displayed in an aperture set at 6 o’clock. Here, precision and elegance go hand-in-hand.
