Manufacturing is not something innate, it’s something acquired. Acquiring a wide range of watchmaking skills and know-how takes time. For Bulgari, high standards and ingenuity already form an integral part of its DNA. The Roman jeweler founded in 1884 has been creating sublime and unique timepieces throughout the 20th century, combining elements of classical Italian culture with modern designs. Starting with the Bulgari Bulgari watch collection in 1975, followed by the Aluminium line, Bulgari challenged traditional codes to forge its own identity. By acquiring the prestigious Genta-Roth workshops in 2000 and then launching the Octo models in 2012, the brand definitively established itself as a key player in the industry with the ability to manufacture all the components of a timepiece in compliance with the highest professional standards.
Team work makes the dream work! Having become a manufacturer, Bulgari went on to achieve a series of technical feats. Over the next decade, the Company’s agenda was dominated by records of finesse. From the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Manuel to the Octo Finissimo Ultra measuring only 1.80mm thick, grand complications unfolded within the infinitely small for the immense pleasure of collectors of beautiful and complex ingenious mechanisms. Bold watchmaking definitively entered into a whole new dimension. From research to development, machining to assembly, all the steps involved in finalizing a watch were carried out according to the rules of the art, thanks to the master watchmakers’ dexterity and their in-depth knowledge of the material involved. Bulgari continues to broaden the scope of what is possible, enchanting traditional watchmaking, fine watchmaking, and fine jewelry.
