STAYING IN SHAPE!
Hermès, forever true to the same instinct which has been guiding it since the word ‘go’, takes a leaf out of the comfort conveyed by its ready-to-wear fashion to bring us a novel three-watch collection cut out for sporting activities.
The second quarter is set to be pretty sporty for Hermès which showcases its new family of watches bearing the coded name: H08. H for Hermès, of course, and 08 because these two digits correspond to the stylistic signature of the watch with its curvaceous 39 x 39 mm cushion-shaped case. Well-rooted since the very beginning with the world of equitation in particular, sport has always played a key role in the Parisian house’s development and this mindset is perfectly in line with the work carried out on the brand’s ready-to-wear realm, especially for the spring-summer 2021 collection which center stages comfort and lightness. As such, these two variables feature in the trio of H08 models through the choice of materials used and their design.
The play on geometric figures which is ever-so dear to Hermès stands out on the H08 through its body which isn’t really round and isn’t really square. The body, crafted in graphene-filled composite – a light, resistant carbon derivative – or in satin-brushed or black DLC-coated titanium, is topped with a fixed ceramic or titanium bezel offering optimal comfort. The sandblasted gold or black-coated nickel dial hosts an hour chapter boasting applique-style Arabic numerals whose 8 replicates the case shape, i.e. a curvaceous rendering of the famous anchor chain bracelet, of the counterpoise of the orange-arrow-tipped direct drive and of the central link of the full titanium version.
The hour, minute, seconds and date displays are driven by the automatic manufacture caliber H1837 which delivers a power reserve of almost two days.
