SWITCHING TO SUMMER MODE
Designed by Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of Hermès Horlogerie, this elegant model accentuates its original personality with a subtle play on finishes and colors.
Last year, at the height of the sporty chic trend, the Hermès Hour adopted the features of a watch design inspired by the distinctive creations of the men’s ready-to-wear industry, aptly in tune with the spirit of the times. This year, the color blue takes center stage for a new summer variation of the H08. Its light cushion-shaped 39x39mm titanium case has a deep azure hue, as does the center of its dial, its hour-circle, and its comfortable rubber wristband closed by a titanium diamond light coating (DLC) buckle.
The rounded hour and minute hands, the original counterweighted swift second hand, and the date at 4:30 remain powered by the manufacturer’s caliber H1837 developed by Vaucher. This self-winding movement, already present in previous versions of the collection, delivers two days of power reserve to the watch. The sapphire backing of the case facilitates the discovery of, among other things, its oscillating weight decorated with interlaced H’s. For a harmonious visual effect, the applied Arabic numerals with their atypical typography are covered with white Super-LumiNova® while the black gold-treated minute disk with its satin finish is fitted with orange markers. In this configuration, we find the stylized 8, evoking both the shape of the case and the inescapable stirrup of the Parisian saddler’s equestrian universe. A satin-finish ceramic bezel strikes just the right balance. More than ever, the colors energize the contemporary design.
