Ten years ago, while strolling through the aisles of a shop in Geneva that has since ceased to exist, visitors were able to admire exclusive timepieces from independent brands. Among these, Cyrus stood out by unveiling timepieces designed by the talented Jean-François Mojon. Drawing on its ability to create original watches, the company successfully established itself firmly within the watchmaking landscape, notably with the Klepcys model. To commemorate this decade rich in creativity, Cyrus is introducing a technical, aesthetic limited edition, produced in only 10 watches: the Klepsys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire.
Its openwork dial provides the backdrop for a stunning mechanical architectural display. Underneath an impressive gold structure inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s self-supporting bridge design, a vertical tourbillon revolves on a 90° axis completing its rotation in one minute. On either side of it appears the time data, a jumping hour and a minute, both of which are retrograde. A sphere positioned at 12 o’clock, calibrated from 1 to 4 days, provides information on the remaining power supply.
The 44mm diameter cushion-shaped sapphire crystal casing serves as an elegant setting for a complex caliber assembled with 344 components. This hand-wound movement can be appreciated from all perspectives. The translucent case back enables the two associated cylinders to be seen at the same time. Once the springs are fully wound, the Klepcys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire has over 100 hours of power in reserve!
