It is often said that beauty is not only in the appearance, but also and especially in the heart. The recent model signed by Chopard does not contradict this maxim, which is so popular that it has become almost a rule. Indeed, one look is enough to grasp all the refinement that the exclusive L.U.C 1963 Heritage Chronograph edition, limited to only 25 pieces, all numbered, exudes, both aesthetically and mechanically. Endorsed by the double certification issued by the COSC for its chronometric performance and by the Poinçon de Genève for its quality, it is all the more desirable.
Halfway between olive and khaki, depending on the light, the green hue that covers the dial was obtained by PVD treatment and then enhanced by a sunray finish, the rays of which emanate from the “L.U.Chopard” logo inscribed around 12 o’clock. This color, as intense as it is radiant, also covers the three azure counters over which fly the pair of central dauphine fusée-shaped hands: the small seconds at 6 o’clock and the totalizers for the minutes and hours of the chronograph, respectively located at 3 and 9 o’clock. There are no hour markers here, but large white Arabic numerals scaled to 60 and curved by a railway track. These different displays are driven by the L.U.C 03.07-L manual winding 4hz caliber, integrating a flyback chronograph function and providing an important 60-hour power reserve. Housed in a case measuring 42mm in diameter and 14.55mm thick, machined from bright Lucent SteelTM, an steel made from 80% recycled iron elements, this manufacture movement reveals its gears and decorations through the transparent caseback. In short, a watch that is full of beauty, from the front as well as the back, inside and out.
