L.U.C LUNAR ONE Chopard

L.U.C LUNAR ONE Chopard

MAJESTIC DUO

The manufacture has been continually optimizing its perpetual calendar since 2005. This model delights with its sure-fire technology and terribly-tantalizing design.

Defining classic, timeless elegance in watchmaking means having a good deal of know-how and experience under your belt. Chopard, which boasts extensive heritage, has all it takes and its new L.U.C Lunar One pieces are a perfect match for this axiom. The delicate hand-guilloché engraved dial, which comes in blue or salmon pink depending on the version, features a dazzling pattern in the top part and horizontal lines in the bottom part. A host of time data reigns in this exquisite scenescape, including that of the perpetual calendar with astronomical moon-phase display. And, despite the amount of data here, everything can be read in a flash.

The months and leap years are unveiled at 3 o’clock, the days at 9, and the semi-instantaneous large date display in a double aperture at 12. The precise orbital moon phases, portraying the northern and southern hemispheres with 24-hour scale and weekdays, are center staged at 6 o’clock in a rotating small seconds window. Everything sits inside a 40.5 mm-diameter, 11.63 mm-high ethical white or rose gold case. The L.U.C 96.13-L caliber nestles inside. This elaborate selfwinding movement created using some 355 components, including two stacked barrels, delivers a power reserve of 65 hours. As well as being spectacularly accurate, this device is COSC chronometer-certified and drives the moon phases meticulously. And, the result? Well, there’s only a day’s variation in every 122 years. It goes without saying that the exemplary finishes on the L.U.C Lunar One, chamfering, satin-brushing, polishing, circular-graining and Côtes de Genève, meet all Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal) criteria. The score’s just right.
