LEGACY MACHINE 101 2021 MB&F

SEASONAL COLORS

The vibrantly-colored trio of variations of the LM101 unveiled by Max Büsser and his friends stands out from the previous versions through a handful of technical changes.

mbf lm 101 2021 trioThe Legacy Machine, launched back in 2014 by MB&F with a 40 mm-diameter rose gold case, was subsequently issued in various materials such as platinum, more recently boasting a rare metal, palladium, as well as in grained-finished editions. This spring, the 2021 vintage features three novel highly-colored models. The first combines a case crafted in the same precious material as the original watch and a dark blue dial. The second espouses white gold and a purple face. The last blends together steel, rare for the Geneva-based brand, and an azure-hued scenography. For these compositions, a few details have been modified. The bezel and the Legacy Machine engraving have left their space to the time and the power reserve (45 hours’ autonomy), which are read on their respective now-slightly-larger subdials.

Moser & Cie. Many of the 231 components of the hand-wound movement, designed in-house with the help of watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, has been given dark NAC treatment to offer more contrast. Many of the elements are hand-finished in the greatest watchmaking tradition and invite to be discovered through the slightly cambered sapphire crystal caseback.
