ABSOLUTE SUBTLETY
A one-of-a-kind material and a subtly-hued dial offer the LM 101 a highly-original, delicate combination which exalts its character and its exceptional engineering.
In 2014, MB&F unveiled a Legacy Machine, the 101, which hosted the first-ever entirely in-house developed movement nestling in a rose gold case. Since then, various versions such as white gold, platinum and grained-finished versions have marked the history of this model. To end 2019 in beauty, the timepiece now adorns palladium. Moreover, it is the first-ever piece from the Geneva brand to center stage this noble metal. The 40 mm-diameter case highlights a silvery-gray color set off with polished and fine-brushed finishing details. The Legacy Machine 101 Palladium case contrasts perfectly with the shades of the sunray-brushed dial which vary from pale blue to light green depending on the light. This backdrop embraces two pristine white-lacquered off-centered discs, one featuring the hours and minutes displayed by blued hands and Roman numerals, the other indicating the power reserve.
On the engineering side, the timepiece is equipped with an impressive 14 mm-diameter balance wheel suspended by two polished-metal arches. This slow beating is driven by a hand-wound caliber offering 45 hours’ autonomy once fully wound. Its gentle frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour conjures up yesteryear’s pocket watches. Many of the 229 components hosted in its heart are hand-finished in the greatest watchmaking tradition and invite to be admired through the slightly cambered sapphire crystal caseback.
The 18 pieces of the LM 101 Palladium edition are complemented by a black or brown alligator strap set off with an ardillon buckle.
