LM PERPETUAL LONGHORN MB&F

CELEBRATION

The Geneva brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year by rolling out incredible commemorative pieces, as illustrated through this first series issued, somewhat appropriately, in 20 pieces.

The Legacy Machine Perpetual, showcased 10 years ago by MB&F, honored an exceptional caliber imagined by watchmaker Stephen McDonnell. This manual-wind movement, assembled using some 581 components, and beating at 18,800 vibrations an hour, meticulously drives the data display of a perpetual calendar. Its generous power reserve autonomy of 72 hours invites to delight in the intricate ballet performed by the time data. The same choreography rules supreme at the heart of the LM Perpetual Longhorn in a scenescape that’s still layered but adorned here with silver, black and blue.

The black lacquered dial, featuring hour and minute hands, reigns under a sapphire-crystal dome, off-centered at 12 o’clock. The date, the day and the month are ever-so easy to read on openworked discs set respectively at 9, 3 and 6 o’clock. The large balance with its 14 mm-diameter wheel breathes life into the scenography through its toing-and-froing movements. Once again, the finishes are spellbinding. Each has been hand-crafted in traditional 19th-century style with polished, internal beveled angles, Cotes de Genève and engravings. everything sits in a 44 mm-diameter, 17.5 mm-high steel cases. This holder, waterproof to depths of 30 meters, stands out from its predecessors with its tapered lugs. This choice means that they calfskin strap attached by a folding buckle merges perfectly with the case, and tailors optimally to the wrist.
