FESTIVE SETTINGS
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates, at the request of the Seddiqi family known for their involvement in the local watchmaking industry, the brand is celebrating the event with an exceptional new model.
In commemoration of the young state’s half-century of existence, Max Büsser and friends responded enthusiastically to the region’s leading retailer, Seddiqi, by producing a limited edition of 10 specimens entitled LM Split Escapement EVO UAE Golden Jubilee. On this model is found the original configuration of the caliber designed by the watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, with the balance wheel suspended and 12mm lower is the escapement wheel and the anchor. This Legacy Machine created by MB&F also features a salmon color upon which the dark grey time information stands out. The watch is set in a grade 5 titanium case with a rubber wristband.
This timepiece is also distinguished from previous versions by some noteworthy mechanical and aesthetic enhancements. The entire movement has thus been rotated 30° clockwise. As a result, the crown is now positioned at 4:30 instead of 2:00 and the dial’s graphic layout has been transformed with arches that are now offset from the vertical axis. The hour and minute display is off-center at 2 o’clock, the power reserve indicator appears at 6 o’clock, and the date is shown at 10 o’clock.
The acronym EVO is also a reminder that the domed glass merges directly with the 44mm-diameter case due to the absence of a bezel. The FlexRing system, enabling the watch to absorb shocks, coupled with a reinforced waterproofing down to a depth of 80 meters, provides the possibility of wearing the watch even while relaxing in an Emirati swimming pool.
