LUNAR ATTRACTION
The Locle-based manufacturer celebrated its 175th year with a multitude of limited series. Among them is a model fitted with a function proposed for the first time in the collection: the moon phases.
Among the armada of Marine Torpilleur watches released this year by Ulysse Nardin, one of them stands out for its delicate Moon Phases. This particular model is available in two versions, one with a luminous blue dial with a sunray finish, the other with a sober white varnish. Each version of this duo is limited to 300 timepieces. All of them feature an identical arrangement of time information housed in a 42mm diameter steel casing. The blued or rhodium-plated hands point to an hour ring consisting of elongated Roman numerals. At 12 o’clock, is displayed the power reserve indicator specific to the collection, as well as the small second hand at 6 o’clock, in combination with the moon phase information. The satellite is set in a starry decor finished in physical vapor deposition (PVD) blue.
The casing, polished and satin-finished, protects the UN-119 caliber fitted with 222 components providing 60 hours of autonomy. This self-winding mechanism reflects the Manufacturer’s expertise, in particular with the presence of a silicon balance spring and the in-house escapement and anchor made of DIAMonSIL®. This movement is also characterized by its chronometric precision certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
The Marine Torpilleur Moon Phase is paired with an elegant leather strap matching the color of the dial and fitted with a folding clasp. The timepieces can also be worn on a rubber strap or an R-STRAP wristband.
