Small is beautiful! Such could be the motto of these new attractive models created by Longines. Their strengths: a refined personality, along with a high-performance, precision mechanism.
Since 2005, the Master Collection perpetuates Longines’ know-how with watches of a timeless classic look, equipped with a self-winding movement. This year, the winged hourglass brand is adding new feminine references designed around a steel case measuring 34mm in diameter and water-resistant down to 30 meters. Several dial configurations are available. Many of them are precious, combining a choice of champagne sunray, white mother-of-pearl, or luminous blue with 12 diamond hour markers. A third version combines a silvered dial with a barley grain finish and painted Arabic numerals. They all include rhodium-plated and polished or blued steel hour and minute hands, a slender second hand and a date positioned at 3 o’clock.
All time keeping functions are powered by the L888.5 caliber. This is the same movement found on the trio celebrating the company’s 190th year, The Longines Master Collection 190th Anniversary. The automatic mechanism provides 72 hours of power reserve, that is to say 3 days. It is distinctive in that it has a silicon balance spring making it insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields. To best suit either a contemporary, elegant, or urban style, depending on the version, several wristband options are available. Whether in brown leather, iridescent taupe, blue, red, or steel, they all close with a folding clasp. The Master Collection 34mm is definitely something to behold!
