Once a year, Chopard invites us to celebrate one of the most prestigious vintage car races. As a partner of the 1000 Miglia held on the winding roads between Brescia and Rome starting in 1988, the manufacturer unveils limited series celebrating the competition in advance of each event. For this vintage, 1,000 timepieces in steel and 250 in ethical pink gold epitomize this passion for classic speed. The two Mille Miglia 2022 Race Edition watches are built around a 44mm-diameter case, water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters.
On their dials, the duo of hour and minute hands as well as the indexes combine a blue chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and Super-LumiNova® coating offering excellent legibility. In addition to the small second hand at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock, two vertically aligned sub-dials are reserved for timekeeping. To further enhance the sporty personality of the timepieces, a bezel with an azure ceramic insert is embellished with a white tachymeter scale. Piston-shaped push-buttons ensure the various operations of the chronograph. The watch is also worn on an elegant perforated brown calf leather wristband. All time data is powered by a self-winding movement providing 48 hours of power reserve and Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) certified chronometric precision. This caliber has a stop-second system for exact time setting.
