AT THE HEART OF THE RACE
This classical sporty-looking model, centerpiece of the manufacture’s collections, is forever revamping itself with novel adornments. As such, the 2024 vintage comes with a brand new shade of dial.
Chopard, official timekeeper for the collection’s eponymous motor event since 1989, enhances its range with a Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph model that combines a 40.5 mm-diameter, 12.88 mm-high Lucent SteelTM case with a dial known as La Gara, aka race in Italian. Short-cycle time measurement counters reign at 6 and 9 o’clock in a silvered scenescape. This ever-so rare layout means the small seconds is offset to 3 o’clock. These three black-dressed features contrast perfectly with the circular-satin-brushed finished backdrop. The date still nestles at 4:30.
The hour chapter comprising large Arabic numerals set off with grade X1 white Super-LumiNova® is hovered over by the traditional pair of hands boasting the same luminescent paint. The watch is amazingly easy to read under any conditions of light.
To boost its sporty style even more, a tachymetric scale runs round the flange. Its elegant personality is emphasized through the strap fashioned in perforated black calfskin. just like the other models in the collection, this Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph is driven by a COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) chronometer-certified caliber. A stop-seconds device ensures everything is set accurately. What’s more, this selfwinding movement delivers a power reserve of 54 hours to the data displays. Enough autonomy to change your timepiece for the weekend and be sure it’s still working on Monday.
