VISUAL SENSUALITY
For the most discerning travelers, the Geneva manufacturer offers a refined aesthetic interpretation of its flyback chronograph with dual time zone.
One of the rare watches signed by Patek Philippe, designed around a steel case measuring 40.5mm in diameter and water-resistant to a depth of 120 meters, the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1A-011 introduces a new look for the end of this year. Its dial displays a gradient color ranging from a “sunny” blue to a streak of black on the outer edge. Above, we find the time data characteristic of the model unveiled in 2014.
The flyback chronograph records time measurements with great celerity thanks to two buttons perfectly integrated into the case middle. The swift second hand and the sub-dial at 6 o’clock keep a running measurement. The travel-oriented watch also displays a dual time zone by means of a pair of central hands, one hollowed out and the other coated with luminescent material. A push-button located at 9 o’clock facilitates setting the local time. At 12 o’clock, a small hand points to the date linked to it in a disc. As for the two indicators, “local” and “home”, they enable the user to easily distinguish between day and night. All data is precisely coordinated by the CH 28-502 C FUS caliber equipped with a column wheel and a 21-carat gold rotor. This self-winding movement, producing between 45 and 55 hours of power reserve, is visible through the sapphire back of the case. With its metal wristband closed by a patented folding clasp, the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1A-011, decidedly sporty chic, seduces thanks to its elegant design and its distinctive personality.
