Black case, black dial and markers, black link bracelet: the latest completely sandblast-polished ceramic arrival in the Italian jeweler-watchmaker’s Octo Finissimo collection boasts a super-hero style.
Like a “knight riding out of a pitch-black night”, Bvlgari’s new watchmaking opus reveals a streamlined, refined silhouette dressed totally in black. Even though its name doesn’t start with the letter Z, the Octo Finissimo Automatic Black Sandblast-polished Ceramic unquestionably flaunts a super-hero style. In a fictional world, we can well imagine it on the wrist of Bruce Wayne, the multimillionaire businessman who becomes Batman as soon as dusk sets in. But in real life, this elegantly pared-down watch doesn’t live in the shadows but glows on the wrists of women and men of taste.
Highly-architectured like the other timepieces in the collection, the case of this Octo Finissimo measures 40 mm in diameter and is 5.50 mm thick. It is fashioned in black sandblast-polished ceramic, a finish which gifts it with a luminous aspect and enhances the color, which boosts its power. It integrates the BVL138 caliber, an ultra-slim self-winding movement which delivers a power reserve of 60 hours and drives the hour functions on the dial.
Just like the case and the link bracelet attached by a butterfly clasp, the sandblast-polished ceramic face of this new Bvlgari embraces the hue of a pitch-black night. All-black which adorns the three Dauphine-style hands, two in the center for the hours and minutes and one at 7 o’clock for the small seconds, along with the eight markers and two tapered Arabic numerals which make up the hour chapter.
