PATRIMONY AUTOMATIQUE Vacheron Constantin

RADIANT HOURS

To crown the 20th anniversary of its timeless collection, the Geneva watchmaker presents a yellow gold watch as radiant as the sun, imagined by a talented French designer and available in just 100 pieces.

“Sunny” is undoubtedly the adjective that best describes Ora ïto’s creation to mark the two-decade anniversary of the Vacheron Constantin collection. Indeed, its refined aesthetic, based on the dress watches of the 1950s, is transformed into a radiant note in the hands of the French designer and his artistic philosophy of “simplexity”, the link between simplicity of form and complexity of substance. With its luminous new aura, this Patrimony automatique, offered in a very exclusive series of 100 pieces, stands out from the rest of the range.

Slightly domed like the sun, the watch’s monochrome gold face is composed of a multitude of concentric rings on which are set applied hour-markers and a pearled minute track. In the center, two delicately curved baton-type hands sweep across this landscape of circular grooves to indicate hours, minutes and seconds. The only touch of color: the burgundy date numerals in a window at 6 o’clock, matching the calfskin strap with its rectangular shapes. Time is delivered by caliber 2450 Q6, a self-winding Manufacture movement that beats at the standard 4hz frequency and provides a power reserve of around 40 hours. Its oscillating weight, decorated with a Maltese Cross, is visible through the sapphire crystal back of the yellow gold case. The case’s dimensions – 40mm in diameter and 8.55mm thin – make it suitable for a large majority of wrists.
