EVER-SO SUBTLE ELEGANCE
With this series rolled out in just 1,935 pieces, the winged-hourglass brand center stages an attractively-stylish variation of its pilot’s watch, an up-to-the-minute reissue of a historic model.
Last year, Longines delved joyfully into its archives to concoct an elegant Pilot Majetek. This was actually a modern-day interpretation of a piece from 1935. This time round, the brand invites us to discover an upgrade, boasting incredibly-appealing adornments. The Pilot Majetek Pioneer Edition stands out with its 43 mm-diameter case crafted in grade 5 titanium, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. The use of this material makes the case lighter as it weighs in at just 78.7 grams and, at the same time, enhances the stylish look of this limited series with its special gray hues that are visually perfectly in tune with the time information scenography.
A duo of hour and minute hands dressed in blue-glowing gray Super-LumiNova® hovers over the intense matte black grained dial. A small seconds set at 6 o’clock completes the composition encircled by a bidirectional rotating fluted bezel. This feature pairs up with an internal luminescent triangular marker, known as the Starting Time Indicator, which nestles under the sapphire crystal and can be very useful for creating a time reference point.
The data continues to be driven by the L893.6 caliber which beats at 25,200 vibrations an hour. This powerful selfwinding movement offers the watch autonomy of 72 hours. A sure pledge of accuracy and regularity, this motor’s timekeeping meets the requirements of the certification issued by the COSC. And, for a wonderfully-fitting finish, the Pilot Majetek Pioneer Edition is worn on a black technical fabric strap. In other words, when performance and style comes together in harmony.
