CELEBRATING THE SKY
Following on from the great success of its three-hand version unveiled in 2019, the firm from Le Locle reconnects with the sky and silver to propose a chronograph highly-inspired by the history of aviation.
Zenith’s the only brand that knows just how incredibly rich and fascinating aeronautical history is. Back when aviation was making its first attempts before taking off and flying high as it does today, the firm from Le Locle was already showing its love for the sky by guiding pilots with its flight instruments. Forever true to its roots as a pioneer of the skies, it now enhances its pilot watch collection with the 250-piece Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Silver limited edition.
Following on from the great success of its three-hand version unveiled in 2019, this chronograph takes on the adornments which have constantly charmed lovers of rare timepieces, i.e. a total silver look highly-inspired by historic aircraft. The solid 45 mm-diameter case, set off with a large fluted sphere-shaped crown and two oblong pushers, is crafted in silver. The dial, typical of this style of watch boasting central rhodium-plated cathedral-shaped hands and large Arabic numerals coated with Super-LumiNova®, is fashioned with fragments of riveted metal panels, conjuring up the raw fuselage of a plane, and is brushed in an irregular way to add realism. The direct-drive ticks by the chronograph seconds counted in the minute totalizer at 3 o’clock, whilst the sub-dial at 9 o’clock displays the running seconds.
The Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Silver is driven by the automatic El Primero 4069 caliber, vibrating at 5 Hz, delivering a power reserve of 50 hours and worn on a natural calfskin strap decorated with two riveted tabs.
