In the run-up to the new Formula 1 season, the manufacture unveils the official watch which will be worn in the paddocks by its partner’s whole team.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One®, boasting eight wins in a row, has achieved one of the most prestigious track records in one of today’s most fascinating motor racing competitions. Since 2013, IWC has been accompanying the team’s feats as Official Engineering Partner. As such, the manufacture has been rolling out the official timepiece for the winning single-seaters since 2022. This year, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One® Team takes on the colors of the racers. In short, the 40 mm-diameter grade 5 titanium-crafted case flaunting matte gray finishes pairs up brilliantly with the black and blue-green, the team’s signature hues. These shades adorn the dial, the hour chapter comprising XL numerals, and the date. The hour and minute hands are enhanced with a Super-LumiNova® featuring the same color. Everything delivers impressive visual contrast, which means excellent data readability in all circumstances.
The high-performing 32111 caliber reigns inside the case. This accurate selfwinding movement provides the watch with somewhat significant autonomy of 120 hours, i.e. 5 days. And, for an impeccable finish, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One® Team is set off by a comfortable rubber strap that matches the dial’s vibrant tone. Its EasX-CHANGE® system invites to change the strap as quick as mechanics changing single-seater tires during a Grand Prix.
