DOUBLE MASTERSTROKE
For the 43rd edition of the legendary rally raid, created in 1978 by Thierry Sabine, two timepieces driven by Swiss Made selfwinding movements whisk us off to the heart of the action.
Following its great 2020 result, Rebellion’s back with a bang for the Dakar 2021. For the upcoming race which will once again take on the Saudi Arabian tracks, the team boosts its presence with a second vehicle driven by champion Romain Dumas and also pursues its role as official timekeeper. To celebrate this double event, the brand unveils two limited editions boasting the competition colors.
The Twenty-One Three Hands Dakar as such stands out with its gray and red dressed dial and its center stamped with the race logo. This model embraces all the features of the original one, like the elegant cushion-shaped case in black DLC steel. The hours, minutes and seconds as well as a discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock come alive in a decor inspired by the two-spoke steering wheels of vintage sports cars. The sleek scenescape ensures that the revolutions of the three hands are easily readable.
As for the Predator Chronograph Dakar, its 48 mm-diameter black DLC titanium crafted case protects a honeycomb-patterned dial. On top, the Super-LumiNova®-coated hour and minute hands stand out perfectly for excellent readability. A small sectoral seconds set at 9 o’clock informs the wearer that the automatic caliber is working correctly. The black monochrome atmosphere is warmed by the presence of two totalizers measuring short-cycle time and 8 screws on the bezel, all gold plated. The hands, chronograph pushers and the crown are also decorated with a hue conjuring up the sand of the desert.
