AN ADDITIONAL PLUS POINT
The reinterpretation of the iconic 1978 model is rolled out in its gender-neutral format, now equipped with the Swiss brand’s high-performing selfwinding movement.
Encouraged by its sporty-chic-looking watch collection’s great success, Tissot showcases a novel variation of its PRX featuring a 35 mm steel case boasting polished and satin-brushed finishes. Although these upgrades continue to flaunt all the stylistic qualities of the 2022 vintage versions driven by quartz movements, this time round it’s an automatic caliber that breathes life into the watch. To be more specific, here, the Powermatic 80’s in control. Thanks to its NivachronTM balance spring, it’s insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields. What’s more, this mechanism delivers a substantial power reserve of 80 hours to the PRX 35mm Automatic. The existence of a sapphire-crystal caseback offers the opportunity to discover the components within such as its decorated oscillating weight.
This summer, Tissot center stages four variations of its timepiece. The embossed waffle dial is available in blue, black, green and white mother-of-pearl. The indexes on top, adorned with Super-LumiNova®, are hovered over by a pair of hour and minute hands set off with the same luminescent paint. The slender direct-drive’s revolutions ensure that the watch has enough energy left to work correctly. The date is displayed in an aperture set at 3 o’clock. Like its elder siblings, each reference in this series is complemented by a perfectly-integrated metal bracelet attached by a folding clasp for excellent wearing comfort. Once again, Tissot has solved the delicate equation: to imagine a high-quality watch, in tune with times, at an attractive price.
